As good a mozy is, it has some limitations. When we set out to create a backup system we used rsync. It works just like mosy on your computer but is faster and allows for restore in real time.

Our service is not limited to one computer so you can backup both your laptop and your desktop with one account that costs only $10.00 per year.

Who’d want to dirty up a good Mac with Windows anyway

I get what you’re saying, but it does make sense. The software they use is good for one computer/operating system per subscription…if you have Windows installed it essentially creates another and needs a different account. Still…even 10 bucks a month for two accounts is worth it.

I’m still enjoying Mozy. It’s hands off, which is what I need.

Maybe they’ll consider the issue more in the future!

Unfortunately, Mozy does not support backing up of Windows Partitions on MacBooks or BacBook Pros. To back up both you have to pay twice to have both back up as separate computers.

Mozy is good, but not good enough.
