I wanted to write a post detailing my experience with Info Product Killer. A Few of you have e-mailed me about my article marketing results, but I had to put that on hold. Now, I have spent around $500 on Adwords costs, with about $130 of that being on a keyword I accidently let “run away” when it shouldn’t have. That’s some great return on investment!

I attribute my success with this method to the amazing SEO strategies, it being so near Christmas, and to the great call to action the program has you implement.

The fact that I was able to earn so much with so little effort and so few “mini” sites means that this will be a HUGE part of my business plan for ‘09. In fact, I plan on building a new mini site every other day, and focusing on my “mother” sites as well in several different physical product niches.

UPDATE 1/1/09: My totals for the holiday season were over $3100, less with around $700 PPC. I’m very happy with these results, and am currently observing new trends to cash in on with IPK now that the Christmas rush is over I LOVE this product and it is STILL my main business plan for this new year.

How To Actually Beat This Darn Recession…

Sometimes we wonder if all of the bad news that we hear
is just the media manipulating public opinion… for some
reason unbeknownst to us.

Yesterday, I had driven home to me just how bad the
recession actually IS in my part of the U.S., and also how I
could actually help out.

I’m retired U.S. Air Force, so I’ve earned a pension.

That means that after having served 20 years in the military,
I DO have a guaranteed income for the rest of my life.
Combine that with the web business that I’ve built and I
honestly DON’T notice most of the economic ups and downs.

Yesterday, I drove to a nearby air force base to get a
haircut by my favorite barber. It was a 1-hour drive each
way, but since I always LOVE the job that this barber
does, it was worth the drive. At the same time, I listened
to marketing CD’s both ways, so I “worked” while I drove.

When I got to the barber shop, Bonnie, my favorite barber,
was working on another customer. There were two other
barbers in the shop, both just standing around. I had an
appointment with Bonnie and patiently waited for her. I
KNEW that she’d do a great job, and I didn’t KNOW that about
the other two barbers.

Bonnie had run this shop for many years, and has cut my
hair steadily since 1998. In some areas of my life, I don’t
like change.

My turn came, and Bonnie did her usual fabulous job. While
I was in the chair, two patrons came in. One had an
appointment with Bonnie, and the other one went with Bob.

While getting my haircut, the third barber told Bonnie and
Bob that she’d had enough fun for the day, and was going
home. She had already planned out her next 30 days, and
since there were NO customers, she was “going to go do
something more productive.”

As I chatted with Bonnie, careful not to distract her too
much, she shared that business was at maybe 25% of the
normal level. Many soldiers who normally got haircuts every
week, not stretched things to every 2-3 weeks. Many
retirees, who use to get haircuts every 2-4 weeks, now
dropped by once every 1-2 months!

As we talked more, she pointed out that many family members
of soldiers, whose incomes normally supplemented the
household incomes, had been laid off from their jobs (often
in the service industries). She point out that there are
many THOUSANDS of out-of-work people in our local area.

Next Bonnie ask me how my business was doing.

Embarrassingly, I told her that it was doing great and that
I really hadn’t felt the recession. I explained to her that
I sell a variety of product online, and that I have a knack
for choosing product that lots of people want.

Bob perked up and came over to join the conversation between
Bonnie and myself. After all, there was not another customer
in site.

I explained to both of them exactly what I do online. I also
shared how they, and their families and friends, could still
do well using the power of the Internet.

I observed that right now two things are happening…

1) People are thinking about the upcoming holiday season and
wondering if they’ll have enough money to afford nice
presents.

2) More people are searching harder for bargains.

Both of those things suggested to me that Ebay is the place to
be as a seller, AND Ebay is the place to do your shopping. Ebay
is the place where untold millions go EVERY DAY looking for
bargains.

I pointed Bonnie to an ebook, and audio course called
“$100 Per Day – The Ebay Way.” I recommended that she get it
and she and the other barbers load the MP3’s onto a portable
player, and listen to them during lulls at work.

Bonnie, Bob and the other barber are different in many ways
from the “average American.” Since they are exposed to soldier
every day who are taught to “find a way” they understand that
they don’t need to be a victim of this current economic
recessions.

In every economic upturn or downturn, some people do VERY well.

The key is to find the opportunities.

It made perfect sense to them, and to me, that Ebay is the
place to be if that’s where so many people are forced to turn
as they tighten their belts.

Bonnie and I also discussed that in times like these, often just
$100 – $200 per month could make the difference between “making
ends meet” and having the car repossessed.

I shared with Bonnie and Bob that there are literally
THOUSANDS of honest ways to make that extra $100 – $200 in a
DAY online, and that they can do it in just 1 or 2 hours of
spare time.

I couldn’t resist sharing with Bonnie and Bob that I co-authored
an ebook called “20 Ways To Make $100 Per Day Online.” I did
that partly because I know that anytime you tell someone offline
that you are an author, that impresses them

I pointed out that Ebay is one of the most popular websites on
the face of the planet, and therefore a great place to build
a business. They actually get more searches than Google does!

I also acknowledged that Ebay is not for everyone. Hence, they
should also get a copy of “20 Ways” and read it.

Bonnie asked where, and I told her that that was easy. Just go

I suggested that she get a copy of the ebook, print it out, and
stick it in a 3-ring binder where she could really study it. I
also promised that if she had it in the barbershop on my next
visit, that I’d autograph it

As I finished up my visit to the barber shop, Bob joked that
if I saw anyone needing a haircut, I should send them their way.

So, yes, some of us really are feeling the current economic
downturn. None of us have to “take it lying down” though!

Ebay is HUGE, and all of the holiday decorations being put up
in my hometown tell me that the shoppers are being reminded that
it’s “time to shop.”

I have now written a total of 6 articles for one niche site. My toddler was NOT happy today, so I didn’t get as much work done on this as I would have liked. I also had client work to attend to

Needless to say, I got a sale from this case study! This is great since it’s just been a day since I started this campaign. I’m not very happy with my click-through rate. I sort of wonder if there are other marketers scoping these articles out since this is a niche that pretty much everyone is into.

In total I’ve had 41 click throughs and 484 views. That’s only an 8 % click-through rate, and I’m normally in the 40% range or so. I’ll keep testing, though!

Why don’t you follow along and test some new niches if you need a boost in article marketing?

Part of my goal for this new-ish blog is to implement case studies for you all to follow. That way we can both see what works and what doesn’t work One aspect of my business I’ve wanted to ramp up for a while is article marketing. I am already an article marketer, but I really want to take things to the next level here to bring in even more passive income.

For this case study I’m going to:

1. Choose 5 separate Clickbank products
2. Write 10 articles for each of them and submit to EzineArticles.com
3. Have a “review” landing page (gaining access to the products so I can give an accurate review)
4. See what sales come in and tweak things from there!

I should say that I’ve purchased the premium membership at EzineArticles. I’m already a platinum member, but I sprung for the premium to make sure I have total control over when my articles are accepted as well as being able to see the statistics from Google of where my articles are ranking.

Progress So Far:

I already have a site that has been making a sale here and there. It had a review on it already, but I’ve changed the theme of the site to try and increase conversions. I have written four articles for the site (two released today, and two scheduled for tomorrow).

Not much action yet, but I will report back

I’ve now been working online for a little bit over a year. In this year I’ve accomplished more than I ever dreamed! Still, there are times when I get down on myself for not reaching my income goals as quickly as I would like.

I have to stop myself often and congratulate myself often for a job well done just to keep my chin up! I have spent a lifetime of trying to be perfect. I got good grades in school, but always felt like I could be doing better. The same goes with my online business. I mean- I was able to quit my job as a teacher, stay home with my baby, AND buy a brand new home just from working online. That’s HUGE!

The reason I’m typing this is to let you know that if you’re frustrated about getting started working online, or you just can’t seem to make the income you want – pat yourself on the back anyway! Let yourself be excited about your successes- even if it’s just an Adsense click worth a few cents.

Keeping your mind and actions positive will snowball into even more positive things. The self doubt you feel will only hold you back. Do yourself a favor and promise to only be positive about your online business from this point on.

Don’t get upset because you didn’t get as many articles written as you could have because your baby was fussy. Be proud of what you DID get done. Don’t beat up on yourself because you took an hour to browse the forums. We all need breaks!

As long as you’re taking action, thinking positively, and modeling those who are successful you will reach your goals.

I am a domain name junkie!  If I see a good one I can’t help but pick it up to – someday- develop.  There is just something great about having the perfect domain.  Recently I’ve come across an opportunity to have my own domain names list of premium domains that I am a broker for.  That means people make an offer on a domain they really want and I can accept or reject that offer.  It’s very neat!

Looking through this list of domains is nothing short of amazing.  The person who scouted these out is Gene Pimentel who is a master domainer. Take a look and see if there is anything you like there!

What’s really great is that the list of domain names includes prices of what similar domain names have sold for in the past. That does NOT mean that is what you’ll pay.  It could be quite a bit lower depending on what the broker (me) will allow you to pay.

Going through the domains is great even if you want to find one on your own, to be honest with you. These premium domains are sure to spark some great ideas for you.

This Books Free review is definitely a positive one! You might know that I LOVE to research. I could research all day long if you’d let me – and often do! The problem is that there is so much junk on the Internet. You never know what information is true and what will lead you astray. That’s why I prefer REAL books.

The problem with “real” books is that they can be really expensive. I know – you should see my Amazon.com bill. I swear they should give me a huge discount for blowing all my money there I’m finally wising up, and seeing the need to condense my expenses for research.

That lead me to find Books Free. Have you ever heard of Netflix? Books Free works much in the same way. You pay a flat monthly fee and you get a certain number of paperback books sent to your house. It’s also free shipping both ways.

Yes, I could just go to the library, but being able to search for books on niche topics from the comforts of home is a great thing in my book (pun intended). They have a great selection, fast service, and low prices.

I’m also saving tons of money and have access to great reading for marketing, research, and FUN purposes. I can’t recommend Books Free highly enough. If you want to start doing quality research that isn’t based off of the same old junk that’s elsewhere online, you should get a subscription. I’ll be keeping mine for a long, long time – just don’t tell Amazon.

Okay, one of my goals with this blog is to help moms find things that really work. There is no need to fuss around with methods of earning online that are ineffective. Trust me…I’ve dealt with plenty of them since I’ve been marketing online! It’s amazing what junk is out there.

In fact, it can be really discouraging. I sometimes feel like throwing in the towel when I work hard at something and nothing ever comes of it. This time, however, I’m going to recommend a product that is so amazing I can’t imagine anyone trying it and not succeeding.

Secret Affiliate Code by Craig Beckta is the golden ticket I’m talking about!

I’ve known Craig from forums for a while, and was delighted to see that he had a major release of a book. He had some really heavy hitters promoting for him when he released this book a few months ago. I bought my copy out of loyalty and set it aside.

Then, there was an affiliate promotion popping up that I knew I didn’t have a chance in because the other affiliates had much bigger lists than I did. I remembered the promises Craig makes on his sales page, and decided to give it a try.

Lo and behold, I put the method to work (it took between 4-6 hours…I didn’t time myself and waited nervously. I mean, this was a big promotion and I thought I didn’t have a chance. I am very impressed with the Secret Affiliate Code method, and I can attest that it does work. Yes, you will have to DO the work. But it doesn’t take much. Earning $436.50 on a launch I felt I had little chance in is certainly not too shabby.

If you’ve been online for any length of time at all you’ve probably noticed that there are a ton of distractions. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and like you have to run around like a chicken with your head cut off! The important thing, however is that you learn to focus so you can start to bring in the income.

If you’re running after one golden egg after another, you’re never going to catch any of them. You need to choose a solid business plan and stick with it. That is how the most successful people get to where they are today.

When I first started out online, I had huge focus problems. I was ghostwriting so much that I didn’t have any time at all to focus on my own things. At least…that’s what I told myself! The truth was that I was always in learning mode, and never actually implemented the things I learned.

So, when did my income start to increase? The minute I started focusing. It’s really amazing what that does for you.

I’m starting to get pretty big into personal development, and focus is one of the things I’m working on. Yes, it’s tough to focus online, but it’s essential.

I’m going to start a series on how to focus. It’s especially hard because you’re a momma…and your little ones are running here, there and everywhere. But you CAN do it. You CAN choose a business model, stick with it, get your work done, and have enought time left over to spend with your kids.

For those of you who aren’t sure yet what your business model should be, don’t worry! I’m going to share a great one with you tomorrow that I’ve profited very well from. I don’t know how anyone couldn’t put it to good use and not make money

Until then, think about the changes you can make in your life to become better at focusing. Look for the business model I’m talking about, as well as the upcoming series on bringing focus into your life.

Back before I started to sell my own products I often wondered how in the world people automated their downloads. I mean, it all sounded so mysterious and I wasn’t sure if I could handle the technical end of things. Thankfully, someone introduced me to e-junkie.

Have you heard of those products you have to install on your server and try to figure out your MySQL databases and all that jazz? Yeah…I didn’t want to deal with all of that either. E-junkie was definitely the answer.
